Dear CX community,

Yes, Cross Is Back!

Vanier Park September 22, 2024.

We wanted and tried to get an earlier date, but sharing the park with Bard On The Beach, challenging. So we suffered the slings and arrows of outrageous fortune, and had to settle for Sept 22.

If you want to have some competitive racing and fun, join us at the usual location, Vanier Park Vancouver.

Thank you for your amazing support over the years. If you're wondering what you can do to help we would suggest coming out to race, volunteer and help make sure ours and all other Cyclocross races are supported this year. Currently the schedule is looking pretty good. There just might be time to start training.

In the event that the stars don’t line up and conditions arise that, perish the thought, we are forced to cancel the race, rest assured that for those of you who pre-registered, you will be getting full refunds.

Hope to see you on September 22, 2024!

Sincerely,

West Coast Cycling

Vanier Park CX is the largest and arguably the best location in the lower mainland to host a cyclocross (CX) race. Set against English Bay, Downtown Vancouver and Stanley Park you really can't find a more scenic venue. Vanier Park CX is part of the expanded Lower Mainland CX Series (#LMCX) and is sanctioned by CyclingBC.net.

Sponsors and Partners

NEW FOR 2024: This is a note for all Racers, Club members and especially, Race-Day Volunteers for Vanier 2024:

The fine folks at Blonyx Canada, have provided us with some bonuses and an opportunity for a discount on Blonyx nutritional products.

For those that don’t know, likely quite a few, Blonyx is a North Vancouver based manufacturer and distributor of nutritional supplements. Range covers Protein powder (awesome stuff too), electrolyte solution mixes and a range of other products designed to keep you moving, hard and fast.

Blonyx has athlete hydration covered for the Vanier Park CX race, powered by Hydra+ their real-food energy and electrolytes blend. Hydra+ provides essential electrolytes and carbohydrates necessary for efficient hydration from real-food ingredients like mango and passionfruit juice, coconut water, sea salt and organic cane sugar.

After crossing the finish line, kickstart your recovery with Blonyx’s Egg White Protein Isolate. Made from egg whites, the purest and most efficient protein source there is, and just six more simple ingredients, so you know exactly how you’re fueling your body—plus, it tastes just like rich chocolate milk.

Want to try these products before race day to ensure they work for you? Blonyx is offering an exclusive discount for all Vanier Park CX racers using code VANIER25 for 25% off. See link below. Since shipping is local, it is usually quick.

They will have a table at the Vanier event with info and samples. Just let them know you are a racer, member or volunteer.

Check them out. I heartily recommend the Protein Powder. No artificial sweeteners (like I need sweetening.?) so no annoying aftertaste. Not even Steevia, bonus.

Co-organizers West Coast Cycling and Red Truck Racing would like to thank our list of excellent sponsors and partners both past and present who are supporting this years race

Course & Venue Map

The tentative course will be similar to prior year's, but different. We are always working on improvements. Updates to the course will be posted as they become available. Maybe.
We ask that you do not ride in the park for training or practice. The Parks Dept is not a fan of this and if you do, it will negatively impact our relationship with them and our ability to get the park for future events.

Directions & Parking

This year Bard on the Beach festival will NOT be present, but feel free to use their Directions and Parking on their website. You will need to pay for parking at the Vanier Park Lots. Do NOT park in the boat trailer area. If you don't pay for parking or park in the wrong place you will be ticketed or towed.
